As the spring golf season tees-off, we look back on our production with the PGA last fall capturing content to promote the upcoming 2024 Presidents Cup Tournament.
Black Box Productions had the honor of partnering with the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) to film interviews for promoting the highly anticipated Presidents Cup tournament scheduled for this coming September in Montreal. We filmed a series of interviews featuring US captain Jim Furyk, International captain Mike Weir, and Canadian NHL player Nick Suzuki that are being used in various traditional and social media to build excitement around the upcoming tournament.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of The Royal Montreal Golf Club, we highlighted the personalities of the key figures involved. These interviews offer fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Presidents Cup, bridging a closer connection to the players, captains, and other influential figures in the golfing community.
Our filming setup included two Red cameras: a Red Komodo 6k S35 and the powerful Red Raptor. We used the small and powerful Red Komodo camera, along with the impressive Red Raptor, to capture clear and detailed shots. To enhance our setup, we also used advanced lighting gear like ARRI Skypanel S60’s and Aputure Lightstorm 600 and 300x. These lighting fixtures provided high color accuracy, consistency, and flexibility in adjusting color temperature and intensity.
In this particular project, we served as the go-to production service provider for the PGA Tour's internal production team. Our expertise was to ensure seamless technical execution, matching their required specifications, and providing the necessary crew and equipment for the international client. While the creative direction was established by the client, we focused on the technical details, making sure that the footage captured met their high standards.
